Mohd. Saqib is Founding Member and Secretary-General of India China Economic and Cultural Council. He did his M.S in Economics from University of Western Ontario, Canada in 1984 and worked with ICRIER from 1985-1995 before moving to Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies (RGCIS) at RGF in 1996. He has been a consultant to various organizations, such as the World Bank, European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the UNCTAD, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Fredricht Ebert Stiftung (FES), the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Environment & Forest, Ministry of Health, Government of India, Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), WWF-India and various Indian private sector organizations.
Mohd. Saqib has done extensive research work on China and undertaken various research projects for international organizations, government, industry and academia on policy issues, writing and evaluation of research project, dissemination of research through seminars, conferences and lectures etc. Working on economic reforms, Environment, FDI, Trade, Industrial policy and WTO related issues.
