India China SME SWOT Debate
(20th December, 2011, New Delhi)
India China Economic and Cultural Council organized a roundtable brainstorming session on “India China SME SWOT- the next leap” to discuss the areas in which Indian SMEs can learn from their Chinese counterparts and become more competitive globally. Specifically, the session focused on the following areas:
- Access of cheap and quality credit to SMEs
- Technology dissemination from university to industry (XIAOBANs)
- Labour laws in India and Government support programs
- Green technology for SMEs
- CSR practices among SMEs
The brainstorming session was chaired by Mr. Uday Kumar Varma, Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises; and was attended by SME policy makers, non-government MSME stakeholders, industry and trade associations, international development agencies along with intellectuals and professionals in the field of SMEs.
