The India China Economic and Cultural Council (ICEC) launched its Gujarat chapter in Ahmedabad on August 26, 2011. H.E. Mr. Zhang Yan, Chinese ambassador to India, was the Chief Guest at the launch event. During the visit, Excellency Zhang Yan met Shri. Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat and invited him to visit China.

26th Day of January 2012 was celebrated with a unique concept of Republic Day Of India and Chinese New Year – 2012 together to strengthen India-China relations by India China Economic & Cultural Council (ICEC), Gujarat in close co operation with Culture department of Embassy of China in India & CCTV of China.

The Chief Minister of Gujarat - Mr. Narendra Modi, wished “Happy Chinese New Year -2012” to Chinese people by sending his video massage during the celebrations.

By making a significant contribution to the cultural exchanges between Indian and Chinese communities, ‘India China Economic & Cultural Council’ (ICEC) organized “Chinese Spring Festival 2011” for the Chinese friends in Delhi this year on 26^th February 2011.

To this ICEC organized an evening full of fun, dance and vocal performances by both Chinese and Indian participants.

India China Economic and Cultural Council organized a roundtable brainstorming session on “India China SME SWOT- the next leap” to discuss the areas in which Indian SMEs can learn from their Chinese counterparts and become more competitive globally. ICEC Council in collaboration with China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE) & Nantong Govt. organized the 5^th China-India Trade and Investment Conference at Nantong, near Shanghai, P.R. China on September 16-17, 2010.

The Indian delegation to China was lead by Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Former MOS for External Affairs. The delegation consisted of around 80 delegates from different sectors.

ICEC in collaboration with Hindustan Times launched the special edition of ICEC’s bimonthly magazine “India China Chronicle” on the 11th of August, 2010 at the Shangri La Hotel.

Shri Shashi Tharoor, Former Minister for External Affairs, Government of India was the chief guest at the function which was attended by renowned personalities from China associated with the corporate bilateral relations between the two nations.

The 3^rd India-China Financial Conference was held from November 10-13, 2009 in Mumbai & New Delhi. A thirty member delegation from China headed by the Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China attended the conference.  The Deputy Governor was accompanied by senior officials from other Chinese regulatory bodies and financial institutions.
