Under this MOU an annual event–cum-exhibition “Pride of China” will be co-organize by ICEC and CCPIT in various parts of India .
ICEC Council and CCPIT Guangzhou have been working together on many initiatives for the past few years to enhance trade and investment between India and Guangzhou. This MOU will strengthen the relation between ICEC Council and CCPIT Guangzhou.
With a trade potential of billions of dollars between the two countries, the event (Pride of China) will not only offer a unique opportunity to trade community of India to interact with Chinese counterparts but also a firsthand opportunity for customers to own the best quality products of China.
China is the world’s second-largest economy but by and large, its brands haven’t yet made a notable impact in India despite the country’s importance as the world’s manufacturing hub, making everything from iPads to garments. And that reputation as a global manufacturing hub is one of the problems, nurturing a perception that China is synonymous with cheap, low-quality goods.
However, the fact is that China also makes premium products which are unknown to Indian consumers. These include Silk, Textiles, Furnishing, Furniture, decorative Items among others. The need is to showcase these premium products to Indian consumers in order to change the perception about Chinese products.
