On Monday, 30th October 2017, a meeting was held between ICEC and the Hubei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions. After exchanging warm greetings, there was a presentation on the vision of ICEC and the role it played in deepening India-China bilateral ties. This was led by a discussion on the current scenario of trade unions in India and the economic development in India. There are approximately 16,000 registered trade unions in India with 10 million members and have significant impact on the business development in their respective provinces. One of the most prominent trade unions and also a partner of ICEC is the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU). Mr. Ma Liejun, Director, Fund Inspection Committee, Hubei Provincial Federation of Trade Unions appreciated the work done by ICEC. He shared about the Chinese trade union perspective the potential partnership with ICEC for the future.
