3rd China India Trade and Investment
(In partnership with RGICS,
Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and FISME)
Suzhou International Expro Center, Jiangsu province, China
June 28 – 30, 2007 |
The economic cooperation between India and China is increasing rapidly. The trade volume between these two countries has crossed $ 20 billion and China has become India’s second largest trading partner after the US. Inspite of the fact that both the economies have an impressive growth rate during the last decade and more, Indian and Chinese businesses have lagged behind in using their combined strength to gain from fast growing domestic markets. It is mainly a result of lack of communication and knowledge about opportunities, policies and procedures. |
It is conceivable and indeed imperative that Chinese and Indian entrepreneurs form mutually beneficial partnerships, joint ventures, seek exchange of technologies and witness greater mutual FDI flow to boost the bilateral trade in the future. A concerted effort is needed to develop social interactivity between the two countries to achieve faster economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries. |
Thus to fulfill this gap and promote the economic cooperation between both countries, India China Economic and Cultural Council (ICEC) every year organizes an annual conferences on Trade and Investment related issues. Our annual conferences bring together key players like policy makers, regulators, industry and academia from both the countries to understand each other and explore the business opportunity exist between two nations. These conferences help them brain-storm significant business and cultural sectors which many believe will be the prime movers of our bilateral growth in trade in the current scenario. |
The first ever China India Summit for Economic and Trade Promotion 2005 was held in Beijing, China from 9 – 11 December 2005. This Summit was jointly arranged by Beijing based China Economic Cooperation Centre and the then India China Trade Centre, New Delhi, India, which was the pre-cursor of ICEC. The Summit was attended by over 140 Chinese Business Leaders as delegates who were either working with India or who desired to co-operate and trade with India. This summit was broadly based on bridging bilateral hitches and discussions regarding how to smoothen the flow of trade between two countries. Following this, the bilateral conference CITC 2006 was held in Mumbai from 27- 29 April 2006. Over 200 Indian and 62 Chinese delegates attended and participated in the proceedings. |
This year ICEC in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Contemporary Studies and Federation of Indian Small and Micro Enterprises (FISME) organised the 3rd India China Trade and Investment Conference at Suzhou International Expo Center, SUZHOU, P.R. China from June 28th to 30th, 2007. The theme of the summit was “Opportunities and Cooperation for partnership”. |
The 3rd ICEC annual conference brought in around 300 Chinese and Indian enterprises to exchange business information on a one to one basis. The Indian attendees got the opportunity to solicit investments from China and also explore business prospects.
|
The conference covered almost all the business sectors in China starting from electronics, power, SME’s, chemicals, financial services, construction, trading etc. It also focused on the issues like opportunities and investment in India and China. |
At the same time, Suzoho International Expo organised three exhibitions which were attended by the delegates. The Indian companies got the opportunity to communicate with Chinese companies to interact and communicate for mutual benefit. The three exhibitions were International Electronic Devices, Manufacturing Equipments & Electronic Instruments Exhibition, International Cell phone Parts & 3G Products Application Exhibition and Internaional Connector & Cable Industrial Exhibition. |
